For 3 weeks now, I have not had a visual tab.

I have tried EVERYTHING I’ve read on previous problems with this including:

    –changing themes
–checking and checking the visual option under users
–deactiviating and reactivating plug ins and widgets
    –reinstalling wordpress
    — I have the new update to wordpress

NOTHING works. I even tried adding a ‘new’ user and still it’s not there. PLEASE someone give me some help!

I DO NOT have FTP capabilities… is this an issue with theme? Since I’ve changed themes and it’s still not appearing, I don’t think it’s a theme issue…

Ok, it seems to be computer related. I was on vacation and able to access wordpress and see and use the visual tab on our other computer. However, I still cannot do so on this one. What would be causing that? Is it java related?

When you first encountered the issue, did you test it in different browsers?

    Which browser are you using?

Also, please try with all of your browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled. If that resolves the issue reactivate each on individually until you find the cause.

It occures in Chrome and IE–those are the only browseres I’ve tried so far. However, it works in Chrome on our other computer at our other home.

I’ve tried it with disabling the extensions and it still is not there.

That’s why I’m wondering if it’s maybe java or flash related? Perhaps this computer has something disabled or not functioning. Although, other flash and java things work fine.

Given you can get it to work on one computer, but not others, I suspect it’s your computer configuration and not a WordPress issue.

Some things for you to review and consider:

    • Are both computers running the same operating system?
    • Are both computers running the same version of the operating system?
    • Reboot the machine that’s not displaying the Visual Tab, and check if Visual Tab displays

yes both running some OS and same version.

I’ve started and tried everything I can think of but I really do NOT want to reboot unless there is no other way.

You can try Diagnosing for Javascript Errors in your browser.

If you don’t want to reboot, I suggest you use the other computer that allows you to see the Visual Tab.

Without rebooting the computer, you won’t have a clean slate for diagnosing what’s going on. There could be memory leaks in your system, or some other issues that you’re not aware of.

Ok, I ended up buying a new computer because I was having serious issues with the other one. However, the visual tab is still not present!!!!!!!!!!! This is a brand new computer so there’s no issues but yet it’s still not there.
