• This is a new site where I was adding and deleting new plugins, updating themes, etc and I don’t know which one of those actions did this, but the visual editor of the post and pages just vanished. Even the text editor disappeared and I am left with this- http://www.overcloud9.co/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/itheme2-update.png

I accessed all the sections like portfolio, pages, post, etc and none of them had the visual editor anymore.

The things which I have already done to fix this is given below-

    1. Uninstalled the theme and its update. Activated another theme. This made the text editor appear, but not the visual editor. Check this screenshot – http://www.overcloud9.co/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/error.png

    2. Reinstalled WordPress. It did not help.

    3. Restored a back up of the site. It did not help.

    4. Disabled and enabled visual editor from ‘my profile’. It did not help.

    5. Disabled all plugins and enabled them one by one to see which one might have caused this. It did not help.

    6. Accessed the dashboard from another browser. It did not help.

    Please help!

  • Check this:

    1) Go to “Posts > Add new”
    2) Now switch to “View source” view of your browser
    (http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000746.htm)
    3) Scroll all the way down. Do you see an ending </html> tag?

If not then most likely a PHP error has occurred somewhere and interrupted the “code flow”. Since the scripts for calling the TinyMCE editor are located in the footer of WordPress it would not reach this point anymore. Result: no TinyMCE editor controls.
Then you need to check for hidden PHP errors.
