Visual Composer bugs

So i recently ran into a bug where, while attempting to edit a page with Visual Composer, there were only two boxes rather than the actual page content, and the text inside the boxes was white and uneditable. I cant change between visual and text, and the add media button is clickable, but doesnt do anything.

I found a bunch of potential solutions, like adding small snippets of code into the wp-config file, switching themes and turning off all plugins. Nothing has worked.

Today, however, I noticed that all the editing features were actually hidden at the bottom of the page, under the dashboard sidebar on the left. They are peaking out from under the sidebar. I can interact with them, but most of the elements are hidden so i cant get to them.

Im posting this in the hope that this extra bit of information will help someone solve this issue, as this a company website and taking it down to manually reinstall wordpress isnt really an option, especially since im mostly learning as i go here.
