Vimeo as a video source?

    Hi Blake,

    I was really happy to find your plugin after much searching for a way to add full screen background video to website home page running the Total theme and WP Bakery Page Builder. I like that your plugin allows one to select the container, which allowed me to use it on the home page without issue. I noticed that the pro version will handle YouTube videos, but no mention of Vimeo. The client I am working for hosts their videos on Vimeo and I was wondering if the pro version could also use Vimeo videos as a source? Please let me know and if so, I will be happy to purchase the pro version.

    Thanks for the kind words! I’m glad you like the plugin 🙂

    At the moment, Vimeo is not supported. Although I would really like to support Vimeo, their current API is just too limited to be able to achieve a seamless video background. However, it looks like they are starting to open up the API a bit more, so I’m hoping this can become a feature for Video Background Pro in the near future!

    Thanks for responding so quickly and for the info. Your plugin works perfectly for my client’s site and is the best solution I have found, so maybe they would be OK with self hosting the home page video or using YouTube for now. Either way, I went ahead and purchased the pro version.

    I am having more and more requests for full screen video on WordPress sites, so if you can get the Vimeo integration working in the pro version, I would be happy to purchase more copies of it for my projects.

    I’ve decided to move forward with the Vimeo feature in Pro. Although the API is still a little restrictive, I believe I could make it work.

    I’ll be in touch when the feature is about to go into production; perhaps you could test it out if you’d like 🙂

    You’re welcome and I am glad to hear that you will be moving forward with the Vimeo feature. It will be nice to have that option for my client.

    I did have another question for you. I am having difficulty having the video autoplay on mobile. I realize that there are new browser restrictions, but the video I am using has no audio and my understanding is that videos with no sound should still have autoplay as an option. Are there any thoughts on why the video will not autoplay on mobile screens?
