Video page indexing

    Hello,
    a question to other users and the dev:
    Is it possible that the usage of this plugin – which I like and do – prevents Google to index pages as video pages (most probable because of the two click solution for GDPR, “hidden” shortcode)?
    (Don´t get me wrong, I do not blame the plugin for doing that, the cause will just be the GDPR-appropriate handling of the video which we exactly want!)

    My pages should IMHO otherwise be indexed because I have a video schema, the video nearly on top under the H1, not much text – and text which only explains the video in a few sentences.
    Now there is only left that the video is too hidden for the Googlebot and/or it should be more easily reachable for the visitor. (?)
    (BTW, ONE page IS indexed correctly as video page but has exactly the same structure as the other video pages – very cryptic)

    Or have you different experiences and your video pages are indexed als such!?
    In the end, I think, there is no GDPR appropriate solution than using it furtherly and unfortunately abandon the idea of having them indexed as video pages….

    As far as I know using LYTE does not mean a video is less likely to be indexed no.

    I had a look at “google search console” for my own little blog and most videos are indeed not indexed because “Video isn’t on a watch page” (see https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9495631#indexing_status for more info about this and other “not indexing”-reasons). So my advise would be to ensure your site is in your “google search console” dashboard and inspect “indexing -> videos” there so see what Google thinks about the pages with videos?

    Obviously if there is anything that LYTE can improve in this respect let me know and I’ll be happy to look into that!
