Video homepage

Hey everyone, I am just trying to set this video ((http://vimeo.com/96454461) as my homepage like on the example here:
http://depth.dream-demo.com/home-3-main/video

I have literally tried everything,
i reset the database to make sure I started completely fresh with this theme
then I followed the manual instructions as best as I could
I did the “video homepage” template
and I entered the URL link, thinking that would be the simplest way to connect my video- didn’t work
I uploaded my video under 100 mb, didn’t work

thats all i am trying to do, if someone can help me understand why nothing is working please do!
I have the latest version of everything, wordpress- my browser etc
I’ve also tried various plugins, none seemed to work.
my video file is mp4
but if there are any codes I can just put in, or a clearer way to connect the Url please let me know, i’ve been stuck on this all day
