very slow site, Theme: The7
-
One of my colleagues did an analysis, please find below the results.
Here is the link to the results:
https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.berkeleybridge.com/Mu1IuHUN
And my own analysis is:
1) Slow response from the server.
You can see in the waterfall tab of the results, there are network requests which the server is taking up to 1 minute to respond.
You can also see this in fig. 1.
2) Poor design of the WP theme we are using.
You can tell by looking at the site that there are some mistakes in the architecture as a whole.
i) There are multiple render blocking scripts above the body – this means that the browser can’t paint the first page without first parsing massive JS scripts. (See fig. 2)
ii) The first CSS script is almost 100k lines long. (literally unheard of). (See fig. 3)
iii) There are over 50 network resource requests made by the initial document. (See fig. 4)
Conclusion:
There is unfortunately nothing I can do to re-architect the WP theme – I’m not a WP developer 😉
However the slow response from the server may be a hosting issue. I think we need to bring this up with Protagonist (??) and ask for confirmation.
Michelle may have already sent an email, so let’s check before we take any action.

Tim
