Very slow import

Dear woocommerce support,

I have googled so much I can’t bring myself to google anymore. I hope that the answers I get here might help others with the same issue as me.

I run a shop on a very overpowered VPS(CPU: Intel Xeon E312xx (Sandy Bridge) @ 8x 2.2GHz, with 16GB of ram), currently I am importing a csv file with about 5000 rows. This csv does not contain any images.

However, the import is extremely slow. About 3 products per 10 seconds. I don’t have any SEO plugins installed yet. My woocommerce status page:

This speed is driving me crazy, I tried everything. PHP is maxed out as far as I know, I can increase basically every PHP var because there’s almost nothing else on the server.

Any advice?
