Very Disappointing Business Model Change
-
I have been using CookieYes for about two years, originally choosing it because it offered a free version suitable for GDPR compliance across multiple websites.
After installing and configuring it on several client projects, many essential features were moved behind a paywall. The new pricing — around €10 per month per site — represents a significant and unexpected cost increase, especially for developers or agencies managing multiple websites.
This change forced me to completely redo the GDPR setup on several sites, uninstall the plugin, and implement alternative solutions. The time loss and operational disruption were substantial.
While I understand that companies evolve their pricing models, making such major changes after users have widely adopted the tool — without offering a reasonable transition plan for long-term users — feels unfair and poorly handled.
At this point, I cannot recommend CookieYes, particularly to freelancers, developers, or agencies managing multiple websites.
