very easy question for a beginner

Fairly new to wordpress, and I have a couple of quick questions about deleting some of the unwanted content. I’m wanting to change my wordpress homepage to more of a conventional homepage rather than a blog. is my website and I’m trying to delete the “On 11.06.09, In Uncategorized, By admin”, “edit post”, the “0 Comments Edit Post | Leave A Response” and give the page a more conventional feel but I can’t seem to find out where/how to do this.

Also, on the pages, I’d like to delete the “edit this entry” and everything down to large white text box below it.
