Vertical Scrolling Posts in column in page

I am looking for a plugin, widget something that I can display the recent posts inside a column on a page. I am trying to put together a scrolling series of images, to display the featured speakers at a conference. Maybe I have missed something, but I can not seem to find anything that will work. I would like to have a small pic, there name and then title. So I think a scrolling posts with excerpts would be the best because I could set the image as the featured, post title would be the name, and in the body/excerpt would be the title.

Any suggestion would be great, if there is HTML code that I could insert into the page that would be great as well. But it is not in the sidebar, and the area is not able to hold a widget. I have looked through most of the http://www.gopiplus.com plugins, but none of them seem to have the option to display an image. It is also really important that it scrolls because I only want to have 4 speakers displayed at a time and there will be more than 10.
