Verified users unable to login: Verification Error

People get the link and can get in with the activation link. However if they log out and try to log in again they get the error:
“VERIFICATION REQUIRED: Additional verification is required for login. Please check the email address associated with the account for a verification link.”
Using the verification link again of course does not work. As an admin I cannot login on this page and get the same error. It is the page set up by the plugin.
Users can login at the normal wordpress login page.
I am using divi theme. Any ideas? Or do I just redirect them to login at wp-admin (which I usually hide) ?
