The customer can use order note to contact the vendor. There is also contact form option. Other options are not possible with Dokan.
You can use the contact form on the store page by which customer will be able to contact vendor through the form. To enable to option navigate to wp-admin–>Dokan –>Settings–>Selling option

I understand that is the only way right now.
You say customer can contact seller through the order note. Can you tell me where is that exactly? If you are talking about the note in the checkout you shouldn’t count that as communication option.
But, can you suggest the designers if they can think about adding the seller info somewhere else in the site?
Think about it. You are a customer, you like a product, you buy it, you receive the order number. And then if you want to call the vendor you don’t have any data unless you go again to the site, and search for the vendor info. It is not practical.
The seller info should be easier to find: In the email, in the orders page, or with a shortcode you show it wherever you want.
Please try do add that feature.

For the free version of Dokan, the vendor and customer communication option is contact form only. If you need any other feature to make the communication easy you can try custom coding and add the feature. Also, the feature is in our paid version which we are unable to discuss on this platform.
