  • Can put it where you want it to go. I would recommmend in root. So it would be site.com/forums to get to it

How do I create a /forum/ directory inside a WordPress install?

Just like creating a sub directory. If WordPress is on :

    http://example.com/

vBulletin / XenForo / MyBB / SMF etc. will work fine under :

    http://example.com/forum/

However you have to work for .htaccess inside /forum/ directory. Forum softwares has pathetic default .htaccess files for pretty permalinks. Worst is of vBulletin. Always check for 404, improper redirects by WP 404 related plugins.
    Safest is sub domain installation.

    Safest is sub domain installation.

Thanks, how do you mean? Sorry, I’m new.
