This is an issue since updating to the newest WooCommerce version. When adding a variable product to the cart it doesn’t add the variable product, but it adds the parent product.
Anyone have a fix for this?

Do you know if there were any JavaScript errors on the page prior to reverting to WooCommerce 4.4.1? There is a bug in WC 5.5 that can allow a parent product to be purchased instead of a variation.
Most of the time that shouldn’t come into play though because the add to cart button should be disabled unless a variation is selected. A lot of sites also started having JavaScript errors about this same time due to the removal of jQuery Migrate in WordPress 5.5.
If there are any JavaScript errors on the page, I would suggest trying out the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper plugin and see if it fixes this for you.
