• Hi there,

I have a question that could be easy for someone who’s a expert, but for me as a novise
    i can’t find a easy way.

    Here it is:
When i sell clothing in different colors and different size, do i have to put a picture with every variable?
If i have 20 sizes and 3 colors thats 60 pictures, each color/size variation has it’s own sku.

How can i make this easier…. because putting 60 pictures in with every new article is alot of work.

    Thanks for your help,

    Martinus

Nope, no need to put use a separate image for each variation. If you don’t, it’ll just use the main featured image used for the product as a fallback 🙂

    Hello Riaan,

    Thanks for your answer.

Does this mean that if your main picture color is black, and the customer orders a red product, that the product he is looking at is black?

    Thanks

If every colour/size variation has its own sku, then: either the default black picture suits all or you could set pictures for just the 40 variations in the other colours and allow the black ones to default.

If every colour/size variation does not need its own sku, then a simpler approach should be possible. You would make only 3 variations, one for each colour, with a picture. The size attribute is set to “Any”. This avoids multiplying the number of variations by 20. This method assumes size does not affect price.

Alternatively, just have a picture of the black for the main image and put the pictures for the colours in the product gallery. Most themes will show one or several product gallery pictures underneath the main product image.

    Hello Lorro,

    Thanks for your answer.
Every combination of color /size has its own sku. This is because we control the stock via our extern register in our shop.

Are there plugins which can help with this….. for instance, 1 picture for all black, 1 picture for all the white, 1 picture for all the red and so on?

    greets
