even if we check the validate checkout fields option in the settings, the form is not getting validated when paypal button is clicked. what might be the issue? can you please resolve this?
Are you clicking the express PayPal button at the top of your checkout page? If so that is why. Here is the exact text take from the plugin’s description of the validate checkout fields option:
Enable this option if you want the PayPal plugin to validate the checkout page required fields when the PayPal button is clicked. If required fields are missing, a notice will be shown to the customer on the checkout page. PayPal has the ability to provide the billing and shipping address info automatically so we recommend leaving this option off. The checkout fields won’t be validated if your customer clicks the express checkout PayPal buttons since the fields will be populated by PayPal automatically.
The validate checkout option for the PayPal plugin pertains to the checkout shortcode, not the Checkout Block.
We’ll need to add an update to the plugin for that setting to be relevant when using the Checkout Block. We’re planning on releasing an update for the PayPal plugin this weekend so you won’t have to wait long for that.
