• I’m really impressed with the Gallery feature in 2.7. However what I don’t understand, and I’m sure it’s just a training issue, is how can I select images from my existing media library to create a new Gallery. For example I have 3 images that I uploaded on the page we’ll call Outdoor Fun, and they are in gallery format. But now that I want to add the same 3 images plus more to a page just dedicated to a Photo Gallery, I can’t figure out how to select those existing 3 images. The images exist in my Media Library, but I don’t have the option of adding them to a Gallery for my new Page. Do I really have to upload them again and have multiple versions of the same image??? Please Help

    Thanks,
    ~Lindy

  • I’m afraid I don’t think this is possible using wordpress 2.7 as is. You will need to re-upload the images or use a gallery plugin, there are a few good gallery plugins about.
    Sorry to disappoint you.

Thanks for the help, that just seems stupid that if it’s in your media library that you can’t add it to a new gallery.

Do you have a particular Plug-in that you’d recommend?

The NextGEN gallery is very good. It provides a lot more functionality than the standard media library and gallery shortcode.

dont know if this is what you are looking for, but i managed to do it in my website, http://www.ply-studio.com. Look under ‘Work’. I think you’d need to add in the same images again but attach them into your new page for the photo gallery. At least this was what I did. so I think the same images cannot be used in more than one post/page.

and while we are on this topic – the issue for me is that if i add the gallery in a post or page, the spacing between the 1st and 2nd row of images are very erratic – anyone knows how to resolve this? Again, if you can refer to my website you will see it.

    Thanks in advance.
