Thanks for your report. I regret the trouble you’re having with Quick Edit and the loss of item details.
I ran a quick test on my local development server. Of course, the quick edit worked fine for me. I do not believe that disabling or deleting the plugin will help, nor will clearing the Att. Category assignments. It looks like something has gone wrong with the logic that updates the item after you click “Update.”
Does the row refresh after you click “Update” in the Quick Edit area? What happens of you click “Cancel”? Are you able to change other item properties, such as the Title, Caption or Description?
Have you tried the MLA Bulk Edit feature, i.e., check the box to the left of an item, select “Edit” from the Bulk Actions dropdown and click “Apply”?
It would be helpful if you could activate some MLA debugging logic and re-run your test. If that’s possible:
- Navigate to the Settings/Media Library Assistant Debug tab.
- Scroll down to the “MLA Reporting” text box and enter “3”. This will turn on MLA debug logging for AJAX requests such as Quick Edit.
- Click the Save Changes button to record your new setting.
- Optionally, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click “Reset” to clear the error log. You may not want to do this depending on how you manage your error log.
Once that’s done you can run one or more Quick Edit tests. Then, go back to the Debug screen and:
- Enter “0” in the MLA Reporting text box to turn debug logic off.
- Scroll to the bottom and click “Download” to get the log content in a text file.
You should see messages in the log like these:
[22-Jan-2018 19:47:05 UTC] 591 MLACore::mla_plugins_loaded_action() MLA 2.70 (20180115) mla_debug_level 0x3

This is a most unusual problem and I will do what I can to resolve it. I look forward to seeing the information or hearing from you. Thanks for your help and your interest in the plugin.

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
After clicking Update, the row shows the image with the newly set Att. Category, but if I refresh the list, the image is no longer displayed of the list.
After selecting the Att. Category, if I click Cancel instead of Update, the image remains in the list, even after refresh.
The Bulk Edit feature works as expected. The image remains in the list and the Att. Category is correctly set.
I have run the error log. I will send it to you by email.
Thank you for working with me offline to exchange log files and suggestions for further investigation. It has been a month since our last communication and I hope you have found a solution for your problem.
I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it or send another email if I can be of any further help.
