• I’m using the Ultimate FAQ plug-in to provide the course descriptions for our programs. It has worked great so far but now I have some courses that are in more than one program. I want to have individual pages for each program.

Is it possible to have an FAQ show on multiple pages? If I only use “include” in the short code, I get a list of each program on one page. If I add exclude, then only the courses that are unique to the program will show and the common courses do not.

If I cannot use multiple categories, then is my only option to enter the common courses multiple times? e.g. course 302 is in 3 programs so I need to have it listed as 3 separate FAQs – 1 for each program?

    Thank you,
    Sheena

  • Hi Sheena,

Assuming your categories are “Program 1, 2, 3” and your FAQs are the courses, when creating a new FAQ, on the right-hand side you have a box that contains all your categories, you may check more than one. So Course A, can be checked into Program 1, 2 and 3.

You should not have to be duplicating the FAQs (or courses in your case).

When that is done, you should be able to put [ultimate-faqs include_category=’Program-1′] for your Program 1, page.

Let us know if this makes any sense for you! 🙂

    Hi EWD,

Thank you for your response – it makes perfect sense.

I had done exactly as you have described above as far as assigning multiple categories to some of the courses (FAQs). And my code was exactly as you have suggested with the “include_category=’Program-1′” but when I view the page, it lists each of the programs with all of the courses for each in alphabetical order.

The pages are currently in daft mode – should this make a difference?

    Thank you,
    Sheena

    Hi Sheena,

The include_category shortcode takes as input the slug that you have created for your categories. There should be no spaces within the slug, so if there are any at the moment, please change them for hyphens. This is the reason for which my example of a category Program 1, had a slug Program-1.

Let us know if this is what you have done.

    Best regards,

    Hi EWD,

I do have hyphens in the short code as follows:
    [ultimate-faqs include_category=’acrtw-stream-1′]
    [ultimate-faqs include_category=’acrtw-stream-2′]
    [ultimate-faqs include_category=’bdm-courses’]

The two ACRTW pages show all courses for the two ACRTW programs plus the courses common in the BDM program. The BDM page shows the two ACRTW FAQ lists first and then all of the BDM courses. The programs are listing alphabetically on the page.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you,
    Sheena

    Hi Sheena,

We are trying to recreate the issue, but everything is working properly. Each shortcode is found within one page, correct?

Would it be possible for you to e-mail us with the details at contactetoilewd@gmail.com?

    Best regards,

    EWD
