• Hi,

I’m reasonably savvy and haven’t had problems with wordpress in the past, but I’m clearly not doing something right.

First of all, I’m working here: http://www.gjblues.co.uk/wsjlab/

I’m making a prototype website for our lab and want to include a list of publications that updates automatically. Eventually I plan on using the indexing service Scopus, which I can set to search for papers including a specific author and create an RSS feed from that.

My approach is to make a fixed page with a bit of blurb at the top, then the info from the RSS feed below. At first I was using plugins like RSSImport, but I don’t like it, and found out about fetch_feed.

I tried using the sample code from the WordPress fetch_feed documentation to see if I could get it working (I’m using lolcats as a simple feed example) but it just vomits out the code at me, not the RSS.

If you look at http://www.gjblues.co.uk/wsjlab/recent-pubs/ you can see what I’m talking about.

It appears I’ve reached the limit of my understanding. How can I get this to work?

    Cheers,

    George B.
