Users Not Subscribed After Checking Out

Hi
I have noticed that users are not being subscribed to the newsletter after they checkout and I mark their orders complete.
I have an active API which shows on MC. I have WooCommerce Checkout set to active on your settings. I cannot verify if customers are unchecking the “Subscribe to our newsletter” box – is there a way to confirm this?
I also do not have double opt-in configured – it is switched off.
Please can you assist with what could be the problem? I have the logs as well from the plugin from the time it was installed.
