I’ve been receiving new user spam constantly for the last 24 hrs.

I have tried to block the IP addresses but its constantly using new addresses.

I installed a Captcha plugin but it doesn’t seem to apply to the subscribe2 widget I’m using in my sidebar.

Any ideas of how to fix this issue?

@tscandy64,

Subscribe2 includes simple anti-spam measures in more recent versions but I always suggest using another anti-spam plugin like Bad Behaviour or Stop Spammers.

You also have the option to block subscriptions from certain domains in the miscellaneous tab of the Subscribe2->Settings page.

Also, if these are being added as Public Subscribers and they remain unconfirmed they are automatically deleted in 28 days.
