Do you plan to put a profile editor on the front end?

It would be a good way for forum users to not detect the WordPress system at first glance.

    Hello @tonisevhdwp2016

I was thinking about it but dont have any plans for the near future yet.

The reason is simple: There are a lot of plugins which extends the “Edit Profile” section of WordPress so users can upload their own avatars, add custom information like social media accounts, etc. If I implement my own profile-editing-functionality this custom functionality would not be available there.

Re-implementing an existing feature which is already stable and well-integrated into the WordPress system also brings me to the question: Is it really necessary? I would prefer that WordPress Core comes with an extended API which allows frontend profile-editing. That would make things much more easier.

However, its not a final decision. Maybe I will add it one day, maybe not. But as already mentioned: Not in the very near future. Currently I am working on other important features like polls.
