User password for small follower group

Hi there,

I am using wordpress since yesterday and I am quite unexpierenced. Hopefully somebody can help me with simple explanations.

I do not want to open my travel website to the public but want to have it closed to a small group of followers.

Best way would be to have a password which all my followers will get and without this password my website can not be seen.

Is this possible with wordpress? If yes, how can I install such a tool.
