I believe I have tracked the issue down to when a user edits their profile. I tried on one my test accounts and when I edited the profile, the user level was removed from the account. Is there anything that can be done about this?

I just ran a few tests and it does indeed look like there’s an issue where the level’s being removed when a front-end profile edit is made. We’ll have to do some further investigating to see what’s causing this issue, which will hopefully lead us to a resolution that we could put out as a fix soon. Thank you for letting us know.

The issue that was reported was for the edit profile page, and that was definitely fixed. We checked and, when a password is reset using the [forgot-password] shortcode, the level does not get changed. However, in doing a few different tests, we did notice that it can happen that, when using the page with the [account-details] shortcode on it to change your password, the level of that user gets switched back to none. Is this what you were talking about?
We’ll do a bit more testing to pinpoint the issue and release an update when we have a fix for it. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
This issue was only on the forgot password page. I have installed the latest update. I will report back if I have anymore users with the issue. Thank you.
