  • If you enable permalinks with the default structure, all of your category links will change to:
    <site.com>/archives/category/<cat name>

Thanks for getting back to me…
Do I have to enable permalinks? I didnt see where to do that…
    I tried <site.com>/archives/category/<cat name> but no luck.
Also, if possible I would like to get rid of the “/archibes/category” but and just have <site.com>/<cat name>
    Thanks!

Take a look in your admin panel at Options > Permalinks page. Read it carefully and follow the instructions.

The permalinks structure will apply to all links on your blog, this includes posts and categories. It is adviseable to have permalinks for posts to be relatively unique, that is, including the month, year, and so on.
You can probably modify the internal WP sturcture to cut down the permalink for categories to be just “<site name>/<cat name>”, but I haven’t looked at enough of the code to give you any pointers on that.
    Regards
