user access groups 6 management – help please!

The following is the functions I have in a joomla plugin and need in a wordpress plugin.
I run a website for a band with about 600 users on there who are a mixture of press & promoters (this is a touring and recording band).

I get daily registrations which I manually screen and either reject or accept. I also add them to the correct user group i.e. press or promoter.

These users should not be able to post or upload material. These users can only download material they need for posters, interviews etc.

the registration collects a lot of information: name, address, phone number, email, website url, company name, job title, job type (radio/tv/printed/webzine) and an extra box for adding extra info.

They have to verify their registration before I screen.
When they log in they are automatically taken to their category page with the information they need, the downloads etc. Each group also has their own menu with all the pages they can access.

Now, is there such a plugin for wordpress? Please tell me there is as I am half way done with the site. I get this plugin I can launch it new years day, which is what I would like to do. It’s my last piece of the puzzle so please help.
