• Hi,
Invented today that i can use re-usable blocks instead of web forms.
Created block and saved it in reusable blocks. At first, i created new post and inserted this new block like a template. Filled it up like a web form and tried to save post as new. No. It’s not working as it tries to update this reusable block template instead of creating new post.
Ok. Noticed that i can use it, when i convert it as regular block in first place.
So my question is. Why i have to convert it every time to regular block. What is the purpose of that, because re-usable block could be regular all the time and it works as it should be?
Anyway. I have saved hours with generated posts with this functions in same format.

Reusable blocks were not intended to be templates in the manner you’re expecting, they’re more for common “boilerplate” content such as a recurring legal disclaimer or similar. Then by editing such a block in one place, it gets automatically updated everywhere it’s used. It’s not meant for user variable content.

There are a good number of form builder plugins available. Some are even block oriented. I recommend using one of those.

Thanks for the answer. Usually they cannot be used by everyone as the source also updates if a bad competence has been used 🙂
I must warn editors when they use these blocks.
So I am adding a new feature to the wish list:
re-usable block templates, that can be used with forced custom post layouts.
Yes there are plugins for every use, but trying to keep the site as light as possible with the number of plugins is quite a hard task.
