You must insert your own API key. The API key inserted is an example and if you do not change the API key for yours you may receive an error message of exceeded quota. This is necessary in version 3 of the YouTube API, Obtaining authorization credentials
I generated my own API key and have been using that, but it still does this?

Are you copying from the right place the Google API key?
Google says: keyInvalid: The API key provided in the request is invalid, which means the API server is unable to check the quota limit for the application making the request. Use the Google Developers Console to find your API key or to obtain one.
I created one in Google Developers and I copied it from where it says API key, is this correct?

Hello,
I have created the key, enable the youtube api on console and getting the same error.

What I am doing wrong?

Do you have any “Status” message in the Google Developer console, just below the API key? If the API key has a inactive status, delete de api key and create a new one. If you added a referrer, check that the referrer is correct:
https://developers.google.com/console/help/#restrictingusage
