URl Variable to Query

I am trying to filter a Ninja Table based on an SQL call using a URL Variable.

IE xxxx.com/tablepage/?deviceid=1

this would only show the entries where the deviceid column was equal to 1.

I have tried by using the following found at https://wpmanageninja.com/docs/ninja-tables/miscellaneous/advance-shortcode-usage/

using [ninja_tables id=’YOUR TABLE ID HERE’ get_filter=’deviceID’]

But the table still shows everything. How do I link the variable to the shortcode then to the SQL call?? or to a table filter??
