• I need a bit of help.

I have installed and built a wordpress site for my business. WordPress is installed at http://dailybeadsale.com/wordpress/.
I would like the url to read dailybeadbuzz.com. I already own the URL but there is no “host”. Currently I just have dailybeadbuzz.com redirecting to the http://dailybeadsale.com/wordpress/.

I would like the url to simply read http://www.dailybeadbuzz.com instead.

I see there is a paid upgrade if you use wordpress.org but I don’t have a “store” option in my dashboard to purchase the paid upgrade. What do I do?

Our blog used to run on Tumblr and I just had to put something in the A record on the domain name and put the URL in a custom domain field. It was very simple. Don’t know how to fix this on wordpress.

Any help would be truly appreciated.

Doesn’t this require that you have a host server for the new address if you are moving files there?

You are self-hosting your own WordPress install. The page I linked to above applies to your site.

I have read this document several times and i just don’t think it applies to this situation…here is why. My company has 5 sites. Abeadstore.com, jewelryplus.net, choicejewelrysupplies.com, pearlbeadsale.com, and dailybeadsale.com. All 5 sites have servers, etc.

The blog for ALL the sites is dailybeadBuzz.com. The wordpress blog is NOT installed on dailybeadbuzz.com. There is just a redirect. I installed it on one of the sites above thinking pointing to the url would be as simple as it was in tumblr. I installed it on dailybeadsale thinking id be able to purchase the redirect like you can in wordpress.org.

Basically there is no place to copy the htaccess file, etc to because there is no host for dailybeadbuzz…

Any ideas how to remedy this? Dont know if it makes a difference, but i am using thesis.

So you want to change the url for this blog?

yes. I just want the blog url to read dailybeadbuzz.com, but I set it up at dailybeadsale.com/wordpress.

I thought I’d just be able to do this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

And update the name servers, but since I am hosting at one of my other webpages this “store” option is unavailable.

Do you think the WordPress MU Domain Mapping Plug-in would do this?

Or do you think I can put the IP address in the a record of the website? or something

This seems really obvious, but can I change my name servers to:
    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
then change my domain in setup?

Like I said – in tumblr all I had to do was put a cname record it…why is this so complex?

This is a self hosted site. WordPress is installed at http://dailybeadsale.com/wordpress/.

Then why are you referencing wordpress.com support pages?
