Urgent – Display First Paragraph?

    All I want to do is print out 1 line.. 1 line. I can do this with the_content_rss. However for some reason it is only working on one or two posts from 10. Is there any front end function which would allow me to do this?

    I can’t believe how difficult I am finding it to just trim a damn post without using the MORE tag.
