• I a uploading all images now ina coffee shop, as i don’t have a lot of data left, once they are uploaded, i guess they reside on my hosting / server, is that all the data required, so I can edit posts later on adding images without using data?

  • Your connection data is used any time you look at a web page that your device hasn’t already cached. So the admin page to edit the post will probably cause some data transfer to show you the page, and especially if it is in visual mode, it will download the images so that they can be seen in the context of the page. If you edit in HTML mode, it won’t download the images to show them to you.

    Thanks.

I did wonder about that, if the cache would mean anything downloaded already would not count at ‘data’, knowing how scrupulous these companies are it would not surprise me if they classed anything as data!?

Anything transferred uses the “data connection quota”. It does not matter if the image is on your device in another app. If the browser does not have it in its cache, it will download it to show you that web page.
