• Recently I tried to upload a localhost WP site to GoDaddy, using Filezilla. It failed, somehow the database got corrupted and nothing is accessible anymore. I have to start over.

One thing I did before starting the process, was to export my site using the WP export feature. An xml file sits on my desktop. It has never been opened and should be good.

I created a new WP instance on GoDaddy. Should I be able to import the xml file into the new WP instance?

    Thanks

  • You will have to go to tools and install RSS import tool I think it was called.
Another option I’d recommend is using Duplicator to package your site (the one that’s sitting on localhost) and then upload the installer & zip package to your GoDaddy.
Check Youtube for lots of duplicator tutorials.
