Upload problems
-
Hi, I have a problem with the picture-upload after using nextgen a long time without any problems….
After creat a new gallery or upload a new pictures into an existing gallery i select the picture(s) and click on the “start upload”, the status will run to 100% but on the left there will be “uploaded 0/1 files
100%”WordPress, NextGen and NextGen Plus are up to date, and i try to disable all other plugins, nothing helps… (Theme: awaken pro)
Thanks

I had simular problems and found out, that some files which had been made from smartphones had to be opened and saved using a graphics program. Funny, but that’s it.
From my point of view there is something special with the JPEG fileformat. For me this is not a problem, because I always convert my pictures to another size, but it took me a lot of time to find out π
After that I could upload the jpg’s to NextGen gallery easily.
thanks for the hint. Unfortunately it does not work in a other fileformat. i try to convert the picture with photoshop and i have tried it with an old picture that i already uploaded.
:-/
I did not find it in a minute, but the question now is: how to debug NextGEN …?
@mpictur – could you copy and paste the server settings under Gallery > Overview > Server Settings ? It may be that you need to update some settings to help correct this.

@mpictur – Thank you for sharing your server settings. I’m not seeing anything out of place or in need of upgrading. I don’t think it’s your theme or plugin conflict. One thing I do wonder is if you have sufficient permissions on your /wp-content directory. Would you mind checking with your hosting provider that you have 755 permissions on /wp-content and subdirectories?
Becky
thanks @photocrati. /wp-content and all subdirectories have the 755 permission, same upload problem….
I had the same upload problem using my laptop. Pictures taken from my Nikon camera uploaded perfectly, pictures from my iphone5 (synchonised at my laptop) did not (even when transferred in Photoshop to a tif format, and then back to jpg – often the sollution; @kraemit). And not only with NextGen, also with the Media function of WP. But when uploading the pictures directly from my iphone5 to my wp site, no problem at all. The problems hence seems to be associated with the synchonisation process between iphone and laptop.
@michieljf – Thanks for sharing!
@mpictur – Please send us a Bug Report (http://nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a better look under the page at your site.
Please include as many details as you can about your site and the issue at hand so we can move on this as fast as possible.
Thanks!

I don’t think it is synchronisation releated. I had this problem using a normal PC, tried different computers and browsers – all the same problem. I think all this pictures came from a digi cam.
@kraemit – Thanks for sharing that bit about your experience. Please start your own topic so we can try to help you with your specific issue on your specific site.

I am having upload problems now too on a clients site.
The issue seams to be when attempting to upload multiple files. It will act like it is uploading then show an error message at the end, “An unexpected error occurred. This is most likely due to a server misconfiguration. Check your PHP error log or ask your hosting provider for assistance.“
Then, I am redirected to the home page and unable to access the WordPress Dashboard unless I quite my browser and log back-in.
I had a similar issue with this plugin on another site. My answer to fix it was to move to a new platform.
Any help before I continue to migrate the rest of my sites away from Nextgen?

@photocrati – Why start another topic when this one is not resolved and it is related – UPLOAD ISSUES? I was just trying to help you guys with more information.
@fgd – There are many factors that could affect a site and thus how code might be working on that site … we are just asking you follow the forums rules as noted.
Thanks!
