• I have changed the upload path (from blogs.dir to just blogs) in the multisite config admin page, but I am getting this error (below). Obviously, the error points to a rights error, however, my question is why is it still using “blogs.dir”?

“IMG_0003.JPG” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\humanspan\sites\6101_WP2/wp-content/blogs.dir/3/files/2010/10. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

And, the reason I changed it is because the hosting provider said the “.” in the directory name was causing issues. It’s hosted on IIS, unfortunately.

You have to make changes in super admin -> sites -> edit site

In there is where there’s a setting referencing blogs.dir

That said, I know a few IIS installs who use blogs.dir wihtout issues.

That is where I have made the change. I have confirmed that the change was made because it displays there correctly and in the database.

Changed for site 3 right? You may want to scan the DB for any instances of it…

Also, does that month folder exist? I don’t think it’s hard coded anywhere as blogs.dir, but it may need a kick start.

That’s correct. Yes, I have searched the db for any instance, and it had only been in the options table for the upload path. It does physically exist, as well as the years, i.e. /blogs/#/files/YYYY/MM.

Thanks for your help so far, but I am stuck.

How … weird. Sorry, I’m not very IIS savvy with anything. 🙁
