• Just installed WP3.7.1 in order to start another blog

Worked fine until I wanted to upload some media.
    Cannot move file to directory.

The only way is to chmod it to 777 – but you can’t be serious to have users set the uploads dir to 777 in order to have them upload things to their blog?!?

Funny thing is that another instance of WordPress in another directory is chmod’ed 755 and there are no issues with file uploading at all.

I wonder what’s the matter and why the installer can’t be set that way to check whether it has problems creating directories or not.

Due to the hits on google (with no satisfying solution) this problem seems to be still present and I wonder why no one is taking care of this.

Since it has now grinded my head for 3 days I am out of ideas.

Okay, forget about the stuff, deleted WP because I can’t get it to work properly. Am now switching back to plain old HTML and uploading my pics the classic way because THIS works!

    No fuzz, no mess!

Sad to see that WP still hasn’t changed in simplicity.

Installing WP is still a nightmare!
