I am sorry for the trouble. From where do you post? Was it from the single gallery page?
If ye, The single gallery currently shows upload button if there are no media. Once you upload some media that button goes away but you can add media by clicking on “Add Media” button at the top if you are on single gallery or on the “upload” link underneath the gallery if on your Gallery list page.
If it is something different please do let me know.

Just curious if you were able to determine what causes this issue. Experiencing exactly the same thing.
What is happening here is when you make a posting to the Activity Stream from the post box, the post processes, but after posting into the stream, each of the buttons that template in next to the post box are no longer there.

I did not get access to @lucio463 to check the issue.
Most probably it is a theme issue if it is happening on post activity screen.
Can you please let me which theme are you using? Also, if possible, Please PM me a link to your site and a temporary user account and I wil do my best to help.
