Upload ads after x seconds later

    Hello guys,

    I wonder if it’s possible to get an ad to show only X seconds after you’ve accessed the page?

    For example, I set up the ad unit or ad group to load after 10 seconds. So, when you go to a page, at a certain place where it was set up to show the ad, nothing will pop up before 10 seconds. And only after 10 seconds the ad appears.

    This is important for when we use ads that will script that page load, especially with ads above the edge where they will hurt rendering. So if we use, for example, Adsense in the header, we can prevent it from loading along with the page. Even though the script is asynchronous, I still think the script a little hurts the upload.

    Would that be possible with the plugin? Is there any code that can do this function and work well with Advanced Ads?

    If it is not possible yet, then here is a suggestion for the next updates.

    thanks for your suggestion.

    I personally believe that an ad in the header might not be the best example, because after 10 seconds the user already scrolled down and your AdSense ad is not going to generate any clicks. I have been there and tested that.

    What I find much better is to only load ads below the fold when the user scrolls down. Our Lazy Load feature can do that.

    If you’d still prefer a delay for ads already placed in the viewport then you can open a feature request.

    It does not necessarily need to be 10 seconds. Could be less time. Or, if it were possible, the plugin would understand when the page finished loading completely and only then the ad is loaded.

    Anyway … it’s just an idea for ads that use scripts and are loaded above the edge, because the other ads below the edge, a simple Lazy Load solves the problem. But I do not know if this is feasible. It’s an idea just to improve loading above the edge.
