I am planning to upgrade to WordPress 4.9.1 (I had difficulties upgrading to 4.8.1)

I have been advised that prior to upgrading to 4.9.1 I should deactivate Media Library Folders.

If I do deactivate ‘Media Library Folders’ and then reactivate it after doing the upgrade to WordPress will the plugin pick up all the media folders I have created or do I have to follow a procedure to get ‘Media Library Folders’ to pickup up the previously created folders.
    Thanks for your help
    Regards

Information about your folders is stored in the database and is not easily lost. Who advised you to deactivate the plugin before an update? No one has contacted us about this issue and I regularly update WordPress while Media Library Folders is activated.

    Thanks Alan,
I am a family historian using WordPress to publish my research. When I upgraded to WordPress 4.8.1 I had a lot of issues which took a long time to resolve. Most people I asked for advice said it must be one of your ‘plugins’.

To me Media Library Folders is the most important plugin I use because I regularily upload revised pdf file to replace previous ones and placing the new file in the same folder with the same file name means I do not have to recreate the links on the webpage.

As I now want to upgrade to 4.9.1 I thought it wise to as for your views before doing so.

    Thanks for your advice
    Regards
    Brian
