Hi there – backups won’t complete on my site – attempts always fall over.

One very noticeable thing I am seeing in the logs is this:

    Error (table=wp_icwp_wpsf_sessions, type=BASE TABLE) (table_details_error): (Table ‘finnzi801.wp_icwp_wpsf_sessions’ doesn’t exist)

Is this what Updraft is stopping on? If so, what is the easiest solution? Why am I missing that table?

    Thank you

    Hi,

For us to check, can you please send us a copy of the latest backup log?
This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Dropbox or Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Hi Steve,

I can see that you are still using PHP 5.6.
We recommend you update to 7.x. Here’s why – https://updraftplus.com/php-version-matter/

After upgrade, please test and run new backup.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

    Hi there

So I updated PHP to 7.3 as you suggested. So far so good. Thank you.

I then attempted a new Updraft backup and it has fallen over again.

    The logfile is here:

I’d be really grateful if you could advise on the next steps.

    Thank you

    Hi,

Can you try to reduce the split archive size to 50mb? This can be found in the UpdraftPlus “Settings” tab > Show expert settings > Split archive every. Make sure to click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page. Then run a new backup.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

    Hi there

So I tried this a couple of days ago with the split archive size change you suggested. It fell over again. Here is the logfile.

Is there anything else I can try?

    Thanks

    Hi Steve,

    Apologies for the late reply.

It appears that the backup could not get pass through the database backup. Can you please ask your host to increase your server I/O limit, maximum_execution_time and site memory? Any amount higher or double the current value would be good.

    Thanks,
    Bryle

Thank you for your helpful reply. I contacted my host. They said this:

“Thank you. Unfortunately, we do not make these changes in our shared hosting platform. In that case, you will need to manually get the backup of your site from the webspace. This is by downloading the site contents using any FTP clients like FileZilla, Cyberduck, etc… ”

So thanks for your help – sounds like I will need to go for a manual solution or investigate a different backup plugin.

    Steve
