• Hi,
I have a Linode VPS with 4Gb RAM and I run 5 websites with low to medium traffic. It’s a LEMP stack fully tuned and optimized.
What is happening is that when I update WordPress or plugins it takes a REALLY long time, sometimes hanging up then I have to delete .maintenance file and try again.
The websites are running blazing fast, but I have this issue with updates.
Any insights? How can I fix it?
    Thanks

That’s what I always do, but is very inconvenient to update WordPress and a bunch of plugins via FTP. Some time ago, months, it use to update normally, but I didn’t noticed when the problem started. Turns maintenance a pain in the a*s, it’s impracticable to update everything via FTP all the time. There’s certainly an issue but I can’t figure it out.
    Any more ideas?
    Really appreciate,
    Thanks

That doesn’t sound good! Have you checked your server logs? They might provide some clues about what might be happening.

Yep, nothing seems strange on server logs 🙁

    Anyone?

Unfortunately I don’t have anything else – it seems like it’s a resource or hardware issue on the server but without any logs to highlight such an issue, we can’t say. Maybe try cloning the sites into a dev environment for further testing (a secure dev environment and turn on logging and debugging to see if anything shows up).
