I couldn’t do anything or go anywhere on y WordPress dashboard either. I found out that since I’m using 1&1 france the wordpress application they have was version 4.5.3 and it has to be manually updated. I read the how to downgrade your wordpress and dit it. The only thing is since I couldn’t do anything on my dashboard I wasn’t able to disable my plug ins. Now is even worse: I lost everything!!!! now it looks like this: http://prnt.sc/eq147x

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Do you have any backup somewhere, or your hosting provider has one? Hosting should have at least some automated monthly if not weekly backup.

    I don’t have one :((((((

Sorry, I misinterpreted the second screenshot, yeah that does look like the whole thing is gone.

At this point, I recommend contacting your hosting provider. It’s still possible that the files and database are still there, and they’ll have the access necessary to investigate that.

Alternatively, they’ll have log access to at least determine what happened, and they may have backups of your hosting account.

Thanks so much!!!! I did recover everything and replaced everything through my ftp but now when I go to http://loicleroyonline.com/wp-admin I have this message: http://prnt.sc/eqe2wx

I’m still seeing the previous error for the main site, suggesting that either the files were not restored, or they were restored to the wrong location.

I recommend checking with your hosting provider again.

Could it be because I updated my wordpress through my dashboard to the latest and 1&1 france is using 4.5.3 http://prnt.sc/eqkovh ???? My backup files are in 4.5.3

I’m not sure, I can’t speak for how 1&1 operates.

The official French version of WordPress is current on 4.7.3: https://fr.wordpress.org/

You should have no trouble upgrading to WordPress 4.7.3, unless 1&1 is doing something weird.

I just check again all my old files are there http://prnt.sc/eqvshq I did restore the old ones as you can see they are dated last years. They were done in version 4.5.3.

As you can see here: http://prnt.sc/eqvth1 translation: This preview does not contain information about changes that you make yourself after installation. Applications installed by default can be updated and deleted only manually.

It looks like once you install their wordpress app it has to be manually updated which is weird because if you click on their app center they have the latest version πŸ™

In your screenshot http://prnt.sc/eqvshq where you say “I just check again all my old files are there,” there are no WordPress files there.

You can download a fresh copy of WordPress from https://wordpress.org/download/ to compare what the files look like.

At this point, it looks like you’ll need to contact your hosting provider to ask if they have a backup of your account.

    Thanks so much!
I called 1&1 and for some reason the web address wasn’t pointing to the files anymore. They fix it! It’s all there!
Thank you so much again! πŸ™‚
