I’d like to have the footer bug fixed by updating the 0.9 version of this theme, but I wouldn’t want to loose all my edits and customization that I did so far.

Is there a way to fix the bug by just copy-pasting the code in the right place?

Did you make changes to theme files or just via the Dashboard. If to theme files, you should move those changes to a Child Theme –

That’s the suggested way to modify a theme so your changes won’t be lost upon update.

I only did minor changes in the theme files – I can redo those.
The rest of the changes I did are Dashboard edits and content stuff.

So I could go ahead and update the theme?

Yes, theme options/settings won’t be lost – only theme modifications – i.e. under Appearance > Editor > theme files. To be on the safe side it’s always a good idea to back up your theme folder and/or entire site before updating.

There are more updates coming in the future, are you ready monitor theme changelog to redo your changes every time? It’s gonna get tiresome fairly quickly (this is coming from my own experience). You should really consider creating a child theme 🙂

i use My custom CSS for my modification and it works great!
