• Greetings,

I’m currently having trouble updating the plugins in WordPress 4.9.4 since it’s asking me for my FTP Credentials. The thing is… I don’t remember my FTP credentials. My current domain name provider is GoDaddy.

With whom should I ask for help? WordPress.org Customer Support or GoDaddy Customer Support. To be honest, I just want to update my Plugins.

Thanks for all of your help and reading my post!

  • It sounds like a permissions issue. I would recommend calling into GoGaddy customer support and asking for support.

WordPress asks for credentials if it doesn’t have write permissions to your directories. This is usually an ownership or permissions issue. As noted, please contact GoDaddy support.

    Hi,

Thank you very much for each of your time and quick replies.

OK, then. I’ll contact GoDaddy and hopefully, that will fix my issue.

I will post back and share with you after I have spoken with GoDaddy.

    Thanks again!

    Hi Guys,

Just letting you know, that indeed it was GoDaddy who was able to help me out with getting the correct FTP Credentials. Thanks for your advice.

Although, I can now access or at least try to update and install plugins. It’s now giving me the following error messages:

“Update Failed: Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content)”.
“Installation Failed: Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content)”.

I really appreciate your time and help. Sorry if I should be posting this in another thread. Thanks!
