I just ran WP updates and was then updating Backupwordpress, but the backup came up with the error: “BackUpWordPress will not work on this site. ( PHP Version 5.2.17 is unsupported )”

I was unable to click on the back button to go back and de-activate the plug in. I ended up deleting the plugin via the file manager in the hosting panel.

I have this fixed, but others should be warned before upgrading . . .

Edit: I upgraded php in my hosting account, but I still get the error message when trying to activate backupwordpress.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Sorry to hear that happened to you.

As for receiving the error after you upgraded PHP, you should contact your host as it’s likely your server hasn’t in-fact been updated.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.

    Cheers,
    Owain
