• I have installed Instant WordPress but appearently the WordPress version that I have installed it is not the latest one and WordPress tells me to update to the latest version, meaning the 4.4.2.

By clicking on “Update now” I actually get the following message:

    “Downloading update from http://downloads.wordpress.org/release/wordpress-4.4.2-new-bundled.zip…

Download failed.: SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed

    Installation Failed”

Is anyone able to tell me why this happens and what can I do to properly update my WordPress version?

I forgot to mention that the same message appears when I tried to update the themes and the plugins.

Download failed.: SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed

    – Please check the error logs on your server for a more specific error message and see why it’s failing. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.
