• I’m using Thesis. Every time I hit “update” after editing a page, I get a whole screen full of “Warning: Illegal string offset ‘type’ in /home/dheffern/mobreastfeeding.org/wp-content/themes/thesis_182/lib/admin/options_post.php on line 150”

If I then hit the “go back” arrow on the WordPress site, the page doesn’t seem to have taken my edit, but if I switch away to (eg) media and then come back to the page, it does have my edit.

The edit also shows up on the site itself.

This happens on all pages whenever I hit “update” even if no changes were actually made.

    The website is http://www.MObreastfeeding.org
Please put any suggestions in very simple English.
Thanks for whatever help you can offer!

  • Try to activate a wordpress theme (like 2014, 2013) and see if you still have the same problem.

Janet, thank you! And what does that mean? I’m already using a theme called Thesis. How does one activate a WordPress theme on a site that already exists?

go to appearances > themes and if you don’t see twenty-fourteen or twenty-thirteen there you can search and install. Then activate. http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes

If the problem is still there after doing this try and deactivate your plugins and check again.

Thanks, Janet! I found 2013 and 2014 and read about them. I don’t use any plug-ins. My son tells me that switching themes is going to require transferring my banner and other things I don’t know how to do. So I need to wait for him to have a day off to help me. Thank you so much for helping me figure out that changing themes is what needs to be done.

Will updating the Twenty-Thirteen theme change the banner image, etc. that I have uploaded and set? I know there’s an update available but I don’t want anything I’ve customized to change!
