Update via Excel

    We have a weekly schedule that needs to be displayed on our site. Is it possible to connect it to a Excel spreadsheet (or access) – that once the spreadsheet is uploaded, every week the site well reflect the new data?

    Instead of me going in a manually changing it in a needless plugin?

    The short answer is yes, you can import information into your WordPress website using csv format files which are compatible with Excel. Depending on exactly what you want to do would determine the best tool to use, or to write custom code.

    custom code sounds a bit over my head. I have a schedule on the site now, which shows what is happening from 5:30pm to 1am on that day. the plugin i’m using now allows me to add it weekly, when the schedule is emailed to me i update it. But I would like the cells in excel (or whatever) to be called from wordpress automatically, so the schedule lady could just update the schedule via FTP weekly and the site would update according to the Excel file on the server.

    Does that make sense?
